Featuring:Dual magnetic pickups are placed 180 Degree apart to provide a complete redundant ignition system for racing applications Easy-to-adjust mechanical advance with supplied springs and stop bushings Advance plate and weights are fine blanked from chrome moly steel and QPQ coated for friction reduction Advance weight pins are staked and tig welded to the plate Nylon pads ensure smooth operation of the advance weights CNC machined billet aluminum housing and billet aluminum base 0.500" steel shaft is QPQ coated and guided by a sealed ball bearing and an extra long sintered bushing Special oil tract improves lubrication to the distributor and cam gear O-ring seals can be installed for oil pressure control (modified blocks only) Adjustable slip collar mounting flange for engines with modified deck heights Will not accept a vacuum advance canister Mechanical advance assembly can be locked out for crank trigger systems Supplied with an HEI style distributor cap and rotor and accepts a Cap-A-Dapt Must be used with an MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series Ignition No CARB Exemption Order Number
The Chevrolet housing has several racing features that racers will appreciate. At the base of the CNC machined housing there are two O-ring grooves. These seals prevent oil in the lifter gallery from leaking through the oil passage. If the engine deck, heads or intake have been modified, there is an adjustable slip collar which allows you to set the correct installation depth. A fine-blanked advance cam is TIG-welded on top of the 0.500" QPQ-coated shaft. Added to the advance plate are chro-moly weight pins which are staked and TIGwelded in place. The advance weights are specially coated to reduce friction and nylon pads are mounted on the advance plate to allow the weights to react quickly to rpm changes. This style advance assembly is fully adjustable or can easily be locked out. With two mag pick-ups, racers can have a complete redundant ignition system which can be activated at the flip of a switch. The pickups are placed precisely 180 Degree apart so when you switch to the secondary ignition, the timing remains constant!
